The Sound of Settling (Is Like Nails on a Chalkboard)
What would happen if you stopped settling? What if you stopped saying okay, fine, and yes to the all things that you don’t see in your dream life? How would that make you feel? How would that shape your week?
Would you stop thinking about your dreams and just start living them? Would you wake up every morning feeling refreshed? Feeling revived? Feeling like you had something to offer the world?
I’m flooded with all of these questions because this morning I woke up with the words of Estee Lauder ringing in my ears, “I never dreamed of success, I worked for it.”
I began to ask myself, am I working toward my dreams? Are you working towards yours? We are all doing something that is leading us towards our dreams - everything from refining our talents and abilities to simply day dreaming, but it’s not just about putting actions to words to make your dreams happen, it’s also about getting out of your own way.
One thing I have noticed is that you may be taking all the action steps needed, but you are still feeding the very habits that hold you back from being the best version of yourself. You may be tolerating situations that drain your personal power, including unhealthy relationships, unhealthy habits, & neglecting personal needs, and you are therefore settling for less than what you want and less than what you deserve.
I believe you owe it to yourself to give your life your all. I don’t believe in saying yes to things that steal time and and steal energy. I believe in using the fuel in your tank to do things that make you feel proud - proud to breathe air into your lungs and proud to be alive.
